Wasps Legends announce Long Lunch 2026 grant recipient

We are delighted to announce that the Long Lunch ’26 Event Grant recipient is the fantastic Matt Ratana Rugby Foundation.

Founded in 2021 in memory of Matt Ratana - a rugby player, coach and Metropolitan Police officer who was tragically killed on duty in 2020 - the Foundation carries forward his commitment to service by changing the lives of young Londoners through rugby and mentoring.

Funds raised at the Long Lunch will support the Foundation’s TackleLondon programme, which provides a pathway of in-school rugby sessions, tournaments, after-school clubs, mentoring and links to community rugby. The programme supports young people facing poverty, exclusion and poor mental health, helping them build confidence, improve their wellbeing and create positive pathways into education, employment and community sport.

TackleLondon has already reached 4,528 young people across 18 London schools and seven partner rugby clubs. The Matt Ratana Rugby Foundation is a hugely deserving recipient of this grant, and we are immensely proud to support its work.
